About APK Digest

A short read about Android software, filed like a newspaper rather than stacked like a chart.

Why it reads like a paper

App catalogues are built for searching, which only helps if you already know what you want. APK Digest is built for reading instead: you start at the front page, work down a column, and finish knowing about things you were not looking for. That is what a digest is for.

What makes the page

An entry earns space by being useful and by being what it says it is. Publisher and rating sit on every line so you can judge without opening anything, and no position on this page is for sale.

Loads like newsprint

The whole file is generated in advance as flat HTML. No client framework, no tracking script, no advertising frame holding space open. A page here weighs less than most sites spend on typefaces.

Something we missed?

Every desk runs on tip-offs. If you have been using something that deserves the page, the contact form takes a minute and we read all of it.

What never gets filed

Repackaged installers, cracked premium unlocks, and anything wearing a name it has no right to. A digest that files those is not a digest, it is a liability.

Who runs the desk

APK Digest is put together by a few people who read release notes for fun and got tired of catalogues that were all the same top ten in a different colour.

Sections get reorganised when they stop making sense. Entries that go dark come off the page rather than sitting there stale.

Short does not mean thin. It means somebody did the cutting for you.
